Vase Nefertiti by
Roderick Vos will be part of the
Cor Unum presentation in
Ventura Lambrate, Milan. Roderick calls it Liquid Clay Casting for the
Salone Del Mobile Milano 2015. Gimmii loves the proud energy that emerges around all involved in this project.
Molding for slip clay casting
"I have always enjoyed clay crafts, especially slip clay casting", says Dutch Designer Roderick Vos.
"As a designer you should realize the following: if you do not understand how to make molds, there is no way that you will become a succesfull designer in ceramics. Mold making opens up endless potential for creative expression."
Vase Nefertiti for Cor Unum
In his opinion understanding this technology simply makes you a better designer. Making plaster molds for slip casting and press molding can really be very inspiring. His new Nefertiti vase design for Cor Unum is a good example.
"Mold making makes us able to create complex forms and able to reproduce these designs in larger quantities."
Salone del Mobile Milano
Because Cor Unum is preparing for the Salone Milan 2015, a few weeks ago photographs of all designers were made. Roderick is very proud to be on the same picture with the inspiring model maker from Cor unum, Ton Musch. Roderick Vos continues
"All Cor Unum products are handmade, but certainly not easy to manufacture. Vaze Nefertiti is my personal homage to Zweitse Landsheer and an almost forgotten field of dutch industry, ceramics!"
Don't forget to come and see Cor Unum's presentation (a mobile gallery in a big industrial hall) at Via Ventura 14, Ventura Lambrate, Milan: 14-19 april 2015.
